Family History

Our Family roots can be traced back to 1967, when our original auction founders Clifford & Mary Thompson, began their business partnership, working out of Beech Street Salesroom, Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

For more than twenty years they managed instructions for probate house clearances, specialists antique and business asset sales, then later working alongside Crown Bailiffs for Barnsley, Sheffield, Rotherham, Halifax, and Pontefract County Courts.

In the early 1980’s, Clifford went on to become the first Certificated Bailiff in South Yorkshire in which to work for the HM Customs & Excise and soon formed an excellent and effective working relationship with HM Customs & Excise (HM Revenue & Customs) throughout central England, collecting millions of pounds in revenues.

Today, as the family business continues to grow, we feel both deeply honoured and fortunate, in which to be able to carry on the great work already achieved and that has been entrusted in us by both Clifford & Mary.
